{"id":1683,"date":"2017-05-29T13:05:01","date_gmt":"2017-05-29T01:05:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/?p=1683"},"modified":"2017-05-29T13:58:49","modified_gmt":"2017-05-29T01:58:49","slug":"2017-festival-of-cultural-sharing-and-diversity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/index.php\/2017\/05\/29\/2017-festival-of-cultural-sharing-and-diversity\/","title":{"rendered":"2017 Festival of Cultural Sharing &amp; Diversity"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\">Year 7 students from Mission Heights Junior College participated in the 2017 &#8216;3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing&#8217; hosted by the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple on Friday 19th May.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\">During this visit students were challenged to &#8220;do good deeds, think good thoughts and say kind words&#8221; to others through a range of activities and interactive presentations. Once back at school, students reflected upon their temple visit and wrote about the application of 3G4G in their own lives.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\">On Saturday MHJC students Cathy Shipway, Ishaan Shukla and Mehar Kaur were presented with prizes for first, second and third place, respectively. \u00a0Also, Chrezylhyn Ortega, Jasmine Strong and Abby McGarva received merit prizes.
