{"id":6963,"date":"2022-09-14T10:16:25","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T22:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/?p=6963"},"modified":"2022-09-14T10:16:25","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T22:16:25","slug":"te-petihana-movement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/index.php\/2022\/09\/14\/te-petihana-movement\/","title":{"rendered":"Te Petihana Movement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This week we celebrate Te Wiki O te Reo M\u0101ori and this year, we are excited to collaborate with our neighbouring kura, Mission Heights Primary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today marks 50 years of Te Petihana movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The M\u0101ori Language Petition (Te Petihana) presentation to Parliament on 14 September 1972, with over 30,000 signatures, kickstarted major shifts in the revival of Te Reo M\u0101ori as a living language in Aotearoa New Zealand.
