{"id":7709,"date":"2023-06-28T16:17:09","date_gmt":"2023-06-28T04:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/?p=7709"},"modified":"2023-06-28T16:17:09","modified_gmt":"2023-06-28T04:17:09","slug":"message-from-director-of-education-re-minor-health-conditions-service-for-maori-and-pacific-people-children-aged-under-14-years-and-community-service-card-holders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/index.php\/2023\/06\/28\/message-from-director-of-education-re-minor-health-conditions-service-for-maori-and-pacific-people-children-aged-under-14-years-and-community-service-card-holders\/","title":{"rendered":"Message from Director of Education re: Minor Health Conditions Service for M\u0101ori and Pacific people, children aged under 14 years, and community service card holders"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kia ora <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools have been asked by Health New Zealand to pass this health information to our communities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This winter, between Monday 12 June and Saturday 30 September, participating community pharmacies in Auckland will provide a Minor Health Conditions Service for M\u0101ori and Pacific people, children aged under 14 years, and community service card holders.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The service allows pharmacists to have a clinical consultation and provide advice as well as medication if needed for a select set of minor health conditions&nbsp;<\/em><em>at&nbsp;no cost to the patient.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>It also includes wh\u0101nau members of a child with similar symptoms. For example, if the pharmacist determines your child needs treatment for scabies and they have older brothers or sisters, or you yourself also have symptoms, they may provide advice and medication for all of you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The following health conditions are included in the Minor Health Conditions Service:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Acute diarrhoea<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Dehydration<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Eye inflammation and infections<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Scabies<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Headlice<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Pain and fever<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Eczema\/Dermatitis<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Minor skin infections<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If your condition needs further support, the pharmacist can tell you the best place to go to get further help.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Let\u2019s spread the word to our friends and wh\u0101nau about this new service!
