{"id":8313,"date":"2024-04-09T20:49:51","date_gmt":"2024-04-09T08:49:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/?p=8313"},"modified":"2024-04-09T20:49:51","modified_gmt":"2024-04-09T08:49:51","slug":"kahu-huruhuru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mhjc.school.nz\/index.php\/2024\/04\/09\/kahu-huruhuru\/","title":{"rendered":"Kahu Huruhuru"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Executive Council showcased the school&#8217;s stunning \ud835\udc24\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc21\ud835\udc2e \ud835\udc21\ud835\udc2e\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc2e\ud835\udc21\ud835\udc2e\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc2e at Monday&#8217;s Celebration Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud835\udc0a\ud835\udc28\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc28\ud835\udc30\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc22 is a traditional woven M\u0101ori cloak that is made from muka (flax fibre). The korowai worn by the Executive Council are called kahu huruhuru, as they are woven with feathers and M\u0101ori band. In modern times, M\u0101ori cloaks are a mantle of prestige and honour. They are symbolic of leadership and include the obligation to care for the people and <a><\/a>environment.
