A notice to our school community . . .

An email has been sent home regarding the 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 taking place on 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.

Following a breakdown in the bargaining process between the PPTA and Ministry of Education, PPTA Te Wehengarua members covered by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (“STCA”) have voted to take strike action.

The school does not have sufficient staff to safely remain open for instruction on that day. Therefore, teachers who are not PPTA members will supervise students on site who cannot be supervised at home. If your child/ren cannot be supervised at home on Wednesday 20th August, please email the Whānau Assistant, as below, by Monday 18th August, 2025.

If this request is not received, it is understood that the parent/caregiver will take responsibility for the supervision of their child/ren.

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬 have also been planned for the below dates.
On those dates, PPTA members will not teach, instruct or supervise students in certain year levels but will continue to teach all other students on those days.

Wednesday 17th September – Year 10 students will learn from home
Thursday 18th September – Year 9 students will learn from home

We will re-confirm these dates in September.
