A notice to our school community . . .
An email has been sent home regarding the ๐๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง taking place on ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐๐.
Following a breakdown in the bargaining process between the PPTA and Ministry of Education, PPTA Te Wehengarua members covered by the Secondary Teachersโ Collective Agreement (โSTCAโ) have voted to take strike action.
The school does not have sufficient staff to safely remain open for instruction on that day. Therefore, teachers who are not PPTA members will supervise students on site who cannot be supervised at home. If your child/ren cannot be supervised at home on Wednesday 20th August, please email the Whฤnau Assistant, as below, by Monday 18th August, 2025.
If this request is not received, it is understood that the parent/caregiver will take responsibility for the supervision of their child/ren.

On those dates, PPTA members will not teach, instruct or supervise students in certain year levels but will continue to teach all other students on those days.
Wednesday 17th September – Year 10 students will learn from home
Thursday 18th September – Year 9 students will learn from home
We will re-confirm these dates in September.
