🌟 Build Confident Communicators with Thrive at Mission Heights Junior College 🌟
Thrive Speech and Drama is excited to be continuing at Mission Heights Junior College in 2026, supporting students to grow confidence, communication skills, and creative thinking in a supportive and engaging environment.
Thrive is designed for students who want to:
• feel more confident speaking in front of others
• express ideas clearly and thoughtfully
• think critically and creatively
• strengthen presentation, leadership, and communication skills
• enjoy performance, storytelling, and discussion in a small group setting
Lessons focus on real world communication skills that support students both in the classroom and beyond, from class presentations and group discussions to leadership roles and future interviews.
Programme details:
• 30 minute lessons
• small group sizes (4 students)
• lessons held during the school day
• $220 per guaranteed eight week term
• free trial lesson available for new students

MHJC has organised Filmmaker and Author Rob Cope to come and give a talk on the topic of Keeping Our Children Safe Online.
This is such a big concern and we need to tackle it as a community.

MHJC would like to wish our community a wonderful upcoming Christmas.
2025 has been a great year of learning at MHJC, for both students and staff. And we wish everyone a relaxing and safe summer with whānau. We look forward to seeing you in 2026.

On Tuesday this week, we farewelled our Year 7 and 8 students. We celebrated their achievements as junior students at our kura through their end of year prizegiving. It was great to see so many whānau and community members in attendance in support of our great students.
We wish our Year 7s and 8s a safe and relaxing summer, before seeing you back at MHJC in 2026!

On Monday this week, we celebrated our Year 9 cohort with their end of year prizegiving. It was a time to celebrate their achievements – both academically and across the four cornerstones.
We wish our Year 9s a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you grow as Year 10s in 2026!
