Nathan Wallis – community presentation

November 9, 2023 Alysha

Nathan Wallis, Neuroscience Educator, will be presenting his “Teen Brain” talk at Ormiston Senior College on Thursday 30th November. It is a public presentation designed for the community. The talk will focus on how to navigate the tricky adolescent years.

A notice to our school community . . .An email has been sent home regarding the 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 taking place on 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.Following a breakdown in the bargaining process between the PPTA and Ministry of Education, PPTA Te Wehengarua members covered by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (“STCA”) have voted to take strike action.The school does not have sufficient staff to safely remain open for instruction on that day. Therefore, teachers who are not PPTA members will supervise students on site who cannot be supervised at home. MHJC's math student extraordinaire, Japnaam, was live on TVNZ's 'Breakfast 'this morning (see video clip below).She also recently placed first in the finals of the SIP Abacus ANZ Prodigy Competition, where 250+ children competed across Australia and New Zealand. She was presented the award by Hon David Seymour, Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand.
