Thanks to the prompt action of staff and students a fire was extinguished at lunch time in the bush surrounding the bike track today, Tuesday 21 October.The fire service was called and they confirmed that it posed no further risk.An investigation will follow to find those responsible if it was deliberate and appropriate consequences will follow as this was an extremely serious incident. ... 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟑 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓Following a breakdown in the bargaining process between the PPTA and Ministry of Education, PPTA Te Wehengarua members covered by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (“STCA”) have voted to take strike action.The school does not have sufficient staff to safely remain open for instruction on that day. Therefore, teachers who are not PPTA members will supervise students on site who cannot be supervised at home.
